My department has been using Confluence for documentation of in-house procedures and technical operations. It has been a solid tool for that purpose, and I hope that UVA will continue to support Confluence or, if that is not possible, a solid knowledge base platform that can import data from Confluence readily.
Confluence is a great collaborative content management tool with features that are hard to reproduce. I believe more people would use it if they knew about it.
I primarily use Confluence for documentation, so hard to judge from a pedagogical point of view.
Features and options - wish list includes html/script editing ability for additional customization, analytics to track adoption and iframe functionality to allow embedding of websites. Would also benefit from enabling system accounts for api management.
I have and continue to value Confluence's support and guidance in hosting a wiki-case site that makes 200+ mini-cases available gratis to teachers and students worldwide. Thank you all again!
Confluence is an industry leading knowledgebase platform that should be used in dramatically more use cases at UVA.
